This family friendly fishing derby is held on Family Day weekend and is a Family Fishing Weekend in Alberta. A sport-fishing license is not required. Open to all Alberta residents and visitors.
This is the 3rd consecutive year we have hosted this event here in Rochon Sands and at Buffalo Lake. The event runs from February 15-16, 2025. More information, registration and rules are can be found on the Big Jack Classic Site:

The Big Jack Classic Banquet is on Sunday, February 16 at Rochon Sands Community Hall. Gather and network with other fishing enthusiasts while enjoying a delicious meal. Silent auction items, unofficial results of the derby, followed by a dance. Tickets are available here:
